Frequently Asked Questions: What should I do if I am going to be absent?
You are under contract and expected to teach the classes to which you are assigned, so contact Hannaliisa and the admin assistant in case of absence:
- If you are ill and will miss, contact Hannaliisa and the admin assistant immediately, so ERLI can make arrangements to cover your class. Cancelling is the last resort.
- If you know in advance that you will miss a day or a class, contact Hannaliisa and make arrangements for a substitute at least 1 week before your absence. Again, cancelling class is the last resort.
- In case of extended absences (e.g., for conferences, research, or other travel related to your professional work), inform Hannaliisa before the first day of classes in order to make appropriate arrangements to cover your classes and other obligations.
- Unfortunately, unforeseen emergencies arise. In such a case, contact Hannaliisa as soon as possible in order to make appropriate arrangements.
